The skyline just looks stunning with the Sun hanging behind it. Even minutes after it has set, when the sky is set ablaze. It was pretty windy, and some jumps, these guys would go feet in the air, with several seconds of hang-time before coming back down.
As the sun set, when you have a friend with such similar interests as you, time just flies as you talk about stuff and make photos — before we knew it, it was almost an hour after the sun had set. What was even more stunning was how clearly we could see the lights on the tops of the towers flashing! Tom decided to use his Canon 2x extender with his which is image stabilized to get a closer look at the city lights. He let me hook up my camera as well to get a few shots as my is non-IS and it was quite windy.
What resulted, was a great shot that I was very pleased with! But there was more to it than originally met my eye. I zoomed in fully to mm with the 2x and began slowly panning through the skyline. Do you know the Crain Communications Building? I call it the diamond building. By no stretch of the imagination , do I believe the Earth is flat — but this was the first time I had seen for my own two eyeballs the manifestation of it in a real life situation.
From the parking lot head north on a paved walkway toward Lake Michigan's shoreline. Next, walk down the boardwalk to the beach.
Once you reach the coast, you'll have amazing views of the Chicago Skyline. Head east along the beach until you reach the sign pointing toward the Suc You will continue along the trail past an open field and then into the woods. Along the way you will enjoy the colors of the wildflowers and likely an encounter with a turkey or white tailed deer.
When you exit the woods you will continue on the oth Camp at Warren Dunes State Park If you wish to enjoy Warren Dunes in peace and natural solitude, you'll arrive at the campground outside of the Summer season.

When we arrived at the dunes, we went for a walk along Porter Beach. Almost immediately, two things became clear. Second, and perhaps more importantly, we discovered that Indiana Dunes offers breathtaking views of downtown Chicago. The initial view — good as it was — only seemed to improve over the next few hours. As the sun set, an intense band of color formed along the horizon. All the while, seagulls soared above Lake Michigan. It was an unforgettable evening in Northwest Indiana.
